PM launches Rozgar Mela, Recruitment Drive for 10 Lakh Personnel

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Rozgar Mela – Employment Fair via video conferencing, aiming to recruit 10 lakh personnel. In a ceremony, 75,000 newly appointed individuals received their appointment letters. PM Modi, extending greetings for Dhanteras, emphasized the significance of the Rozgar Mela as a new initiative in the ongoing employment and self-employment campaigns spanning the last eight years.

Underlining the 75 years of independence, PM Modi explained the decision to issue appointment letters collectively to instill a sense of timely project completion across departments.

Addressing the event at ISTM in Delhi, Union Minister for DoPT, Dr. Jitendra Singh, assured the Prime Minister that the department would soon release more appointment letters to achieve the target of 10 lakh government jobs in the coming months. He highlighted the government’s commitment to filling existing vacancies in Mission Mode.

Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, Minister of State for External Affairs, and Shri Adesh Gupta, Delhi BJP Chief, joined Dr. Jitendra Singh in welcoming the new appointees. Dr. Jitendra Singh underscored Prime Minister Modi’s consistent focus on youth-related issues, citing the “StartUp India StandUp India” initiative from the Independence Day address of 2015. He noted India’s significant progress in the startup ecosystem, ranking third globally with over 75,000 startups.

Dr. Jitendra Singh distributed appointment letters to 40 of the 532 new appointees from various ministries, covering government posts at different levels. He emphasized the fulfilment of the Prime Minister’s promise to provide 10 lakh government jobs, showcasing Modi’s commitment and ability to turn promises into reality.

The 75,000 appointment letters issued today span various ministries and departments, benefiting individuals across all states and Union Territories. Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed hope that these recruits would contribute to national development, realizing the vision of Century India in 2047 over the next 25 years.
